He Was “Grrrreat!”

May 2, 2014 by Harvey Kalmenson 3 Comments

For close to 25 years, Lee Marshall has been a part of our lives here at Kalmenson & Kalmenson. As an acting student, VO actor, and forever a friend, we will affectionately remember him always as the voice of “Tony the Tiger.”

Lee passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014.

We had the honor of casting the voice of this animated American icon, “Tony.” And then, we had the joy of learning that Lee, a Kalmenson graduate, was the choice.

Rest in peace, Lee.

Over the years I had the pleasure of knowing Lee Marshall from his earlier days at CKLW to ABC in Los Angeles and beyond. I remember when Lee was spearheading getting Shotgun Tom Kelly noticed in Variety for his star on the Walk of Fame and seeing him at the after-party luncheon on the balcony of Madame Tussauds Hollywood. Lee was always very loving, giving and warm. Lee Marshall now joins the great voices of time http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Wrestling/2014/04/30/21640361.html

There was no one finer to take over for Mr. Ravenscroft. I was a huge fan of them both. Thank you for recognizing Lee's talent and for a beautiful mention here in your blog.
